About 98% of a cup of coffee is made up of water. This is the main reason why water quality is crucial for the quality of our coffee.
Water, however, is not just the main ingredient in our cup of coffee. Water plays a particularly active role in the preparation of coffee, as water dissolves coffee and releases its ingredients. Once water comes in contact with coffee, a number of chemical compounds are triggered that affect the taste of the coffee we drink.
For this reason, the water we will use for the preparation of any kind of coffee (filter, instant, Greek, espresso, etc.), as well as any beverage (e.g. tea, chocolate), must be perfectly clean.
