Find out how to make the perfect tea!
  • Tea is one of our favorite beverages. With the first signs of winter cold, we all like to enjoy a hot tea, at home by the fireplace, at work or with friends. But how do we prepare a good cup of tea? how long do we have to brew it? what is the right temperature? we often feel sure of ourselves and use the same "recipe" for all types of tea. But what if every variety needs a different preparation?

    • Do not brew tea for less than 3 minutes

First add plenty of water to the kettle you will be using. The more authentic the taste of water, the better the taste of your tea. The most suitable water for tea is filtered or bottled water since it contains no chlorine or other micro particles that will affect the taste of tea.

Tea needs to brew for at least three minutes to get the right taste and release its aromas, without this of course being an inviolable rule for all types of tea. As you are brewing it, you do not need to squeeze it, stir it or take it out and dip it in water again, as this is not going to improve the taste of tea. Of course, the ideal brewing time for tea depends on its variety.

    • Preheat the cup where you will drink the tea

This helps keep tea at the right temperature once you fill the cup. To achieve this, you can fill the cup with hot water and cover it for a couple of minutes until the tea is ready.

Also, many people tend to leave the tea bag in their cup. Maybe because they consider it a waste of time to throw it away while drinking or maybe because they fiddle with it and squeeze it while drinking tea. If we come in contact with the bag while drinking, this affects the intended authentic taste of the tea.

  • Do not add milk first

If you are one of those people who prefer to drink their tea with milk, do not add it to your cup first. Add the tea first and leave milk for the end, as only then will the tea retain its color. It is also better to use fresh milk and not what you use for your coffee. The reason is that fresh is always the best!

    * If you want a stronger taste, add more tea but do not increase the time you brew it with the water. The reason is that tea will taste more bitter if brewed for longer than the recommended time.
