1. What is a reverse osmosis filter?

Reverse osmosis is a process that forces water through a semi-permeable membrane under pressure, which filters out water pollutants. It is the most suitable solution for contaminated water due to salts, heavy metals, and bacteria. Through microfiltration, the water enters the membrane, where harmful elements such as heavy metals (Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu)), nitrates, ammonium, fluoride, and bacteria are removed.

2. How does a reverse osmosis water filter work?

The PRIME reverse osmosis system is a branded, innovative filtration system that is easy and safe to install. It consists of five filters integrated into one cartridge, providing five-stage filtration with just one filter.

Water passes through a specific path and filtration stages:

• 1st stage: Polypropylene (pp) filter that retains particles larger than 10 microns and above.
• 2nd stage: Activated carbon filter that retains particles larger than 10 microns and removes up to 80% of residual chlorine.
• 3rd stage: High-precision polypropylene (pp) filter that retains particles larger than 5 microns and above.
• 4th stage: Reverse osmosis membrane that retains up to 90% of residual chlorine, salts, rust, iron, asbestos, heavy metals (Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu)), ammonium, fluoride, nitrates, pesticides (e.g., trichloromethane, tetrachloromethane), chemical compounds such as hexavalent chromium, bacteria, the E. coli virus, and particles as small as 0.0001 microns.

The reverse osmosis filter ensures 2.5 liters of clean water in 10 minutes and allows you to use your faucet while the filter is functioning for filling the pitcher. It saves space where the system is installed (eliminating the need for a separate faucet on the kitchen counter and a water storage container under the sink).

It comes with a modern-designed pitcher, awarded the IF DESIGN AWARD 2018 for its aesthetics, with a water control sensor for automatic filling. The pitcher is made of Tritan material, which is BPA-free and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), making it as safe as glass. It is a certified system according to NSF/ANSI 372 standards.

It is eco-friendly because to produce 1 liter of clean water, it only uses 2 liters of water (offering water savings compared to other reverse osmosis filters on the market, which require almost double the amount of water).

4. How can I install a reverse osmosis water filter?

The installation of the systems provided by our company, Rainbow Waters, is carried out by highly specialized personnel. (Is there a cost for installation?)

However, if you are outside our distribution network, the system packaging includes installation instructions that you can follow, or you can install it with the assistance of a plumber.

5. How often should I change the filters in my reverse osmosis system?

The life circle of the filters, according to the system manufacturer, is up to 12 months. However, it may need to be changed earlier, depending on the level of water contamination the system is dealing with.
