1. What are countertop water filters?

Countertop water filters consist of a device that internally contains a solid activated carbon filter surrounded by a ceramic material enriched with silver. It is easily and quickly connected to the end of the faucet with a diverter valve, which allows switching between filtered and unfiltered water. It is placed on the kitchen countertop next to the faucet—hence the name “countertop water filters”—without the need for electricity or drilling.

2. How does a countertop water filter work?

The countertop water filter operates when we choose to filter the water by using the diverter valve connected to the end of the faucet. Initially, the water enters through the inlet at the base of the device, then passes through the ceramic material, and is subsequently filtered by the activated carbon, which is enriched with silver and acts bacteriostatically against any microorganisms that may be present in the water.

5. How often should I replace the filter in a countertop water filter?

The activated carbon is triggered by the first drop of water that passes through the interior of the filter, and over a period of 6 months, its filtration capability gradually declines.
